ASL 5 Spezzino participated at 20° Forum Risk Management in Sanità in Arezzo presenting the poster Progetto SFIDA: innovazione digitale e valutazione infermieristica per la sicurezza del paziente anziano fragile (SFIDA Project: digital innovation and nursing assessment for the safety of frail elderly patients) dedicated to the project SFIDA Smart Frail Individuals Data Analysis, funded by Fondo Europeo di Sviluppo Regionale 2021-2027 – OS 1.1 – Azione 1.1.1.
The contribution was presented in the category DM 77/2022: New organizational models for population medicine, as part of the Officina delle Idee, a forum for discussion dedicated to healthcare professionals.
The SFIDA project, implemented in the ASL 5 local health authority area, combines traditional clinical assessments, Adapted Physical Activity, and the use of wearable digital technologies.
Nella fase pilota, condotta su un gruppo di 37 anziani frequentanti i corsi AFA, è stato utilizzato il dispositivo Howdy Senior di ComfTech per rilevare parametri relativi alla stabilità, al passo e alle oscillazioni corporee, permettendo di identificare precocemente profili di instabilità e suggerire interventi personalizzati.
In the pilot phase, conducted on a group of 37 elderly people attending APA courses, ComfTech’s Howdy Senior device was used to detect parameters relating to stability, gait, and body sway, allowing for the early identification of instability profiles and the suggestion of personalized interventions.

The preliminary data collected, which highlight an average risk of falling and a high prevalence of multimorbidity, confirm the relevance of the model proposed in the SFIDA project as an innovative tool for prevention, safety, and proactive management of frailty in the community. The role of the Family and Community Nurse is central, guiding the process of monitoring and health education.
Participation in the Forum represents an important opportunity to showcase the work carried out within the SFIDA project and to compare it with other national experiences in order to contribute to the development of organizational models consistent with Ministerial Decree 77/2022 and with the prospects for digital healthcare.
