SCC INNOVATION HUB & LIVING LAB: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF CITIZENS IN THE CITIES OF THE FUTURE

The cities of the future will be increasingly connected to our well-being, and Artificial Intelligence will be the tool that allows us to improve the quality of our daily lives.
SCC Innovation Hub & Living Lab is a project of excellence recognised by the Lombardy Region. It was created with the aim of designing, developing and collecting data to define a super-technological integrated ecosystem capable of assisting citizens and improving their lifestyle in a society and urban environments that are constantly changing.

Over the next 30 months, an Innovation Hub and a network of associated Living Labs will be set up and located in different contexts, from university campuses to the headquarters of large companies and healthcare facilities, and will represent a technological platform that exploits the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G to collect data from individual sensors, wearable medical devices, environmental sensors, data from applications and software, open data, satellite images and data generated by statistical analysis and complex predictive models.

In particular, ComfTech will apply textile sensors in different areas. The opportunities for improvement and evolution that will result from this project will therefore be various.
The aim of the project is the integration of monitoring services for elderly people, in order to facilitate and prolong their autonomy and connection with urban services related to health and well-being.
The project involves:
• Non-autonomous elderly (with cognitive impairment, e.g. Alzheimer’s) with the aim of improving stress management through AI algorithms and helping the caregiver in the care by providing telemonitoring and televisita service.
• Autonomous/semi-autonomous elderly people with the objective to manage stress and monitor anomaly detection in a preventive and quality of life improvement context.

The experimentation will make it possible to identify possible scenarios and anticipate innovation phenomena to support the cities and citizens of tomorrow.
The project is led by Mediaclinics S.r.l. and has ComfTech S.r.l, University of Bergamo, Italtel S.p.A., Reply S.p.A., Marlegno S.r.l., Orobix S.r.l., Aries More S.r.l. as partners.
