SAMET – Sistemi Avanzati per la Medicina Territoriale
SAMET is a research and innovation project aimed at developing an advanced digital platform to support community-based healthcare and the management of chronic conditions. The initiative integrates artificial intelligence, omics technologies, and wearable devices to enable personalized care models, improving the effectiveness of treatments and patients’ quality of life.
The project is part of the Lombardy Region’s 2021–2027 FESR regional program, under the “Collabora & Innova” call for proposals.
Context and Objectives
The evolution of community-based medicine requires innovative tools capable of supporting the management of chronic conditions and the personalisation of treatment pathways. SAMET was created with the following objectives:
– to develop an integrated platform for the collection and analysis of clinical, biological, and behavioral data
– to enable AI-based predictive and decision-making models
– to improve continuous patient monitoring
– to optimise diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
The project addresses two areas with significant health and social impact, aiming to prevent complications and improve patients’ quality of life:
– multiple sclerosis, to optimise the management of chronic conditions
– oncology, focusing on the assessment of response to drug treatments
